Hello everyone! It’s taken me quite a while to actually start a blog. The ArtofZanae Blog is something that I have been thinking about starting for quite some time. I have recently come to the realization that this is the easiest way for me to share new information with you all on a regular basis. No filming, animation, or video editing required, only written words and pictures. Something that take much less time to put together. That being said, I may sometimes link a video or illustration that is connected to my topic for that day if I have one I would like to share.
With this being my very first post I thought that it would be proper to start with an introduction.
Hello again, my name is Zanae. (hints the name Art of Zanae.)
First off, I am a Christian. Because of this everything you find here is written to be encouraging in some way, and every post has been carefully thought about before it has went live. As for my profession I like to say that I am a Multimedia Creative Storyteller. That is the official job title I have taken on. I do believe that it was given to me by God, in a time when I was thinking a lot about how job titles specifically, effect people and the way they see themselves and the way others see them. That is a topic for another time, however it is one that I find very interesting.
Now what is a Multimedia Creative Storyteller you may ask. What does that job require?
What it means for me is that I like to tell stories, or rather make stories and tell them in a variety of media. For me the story is the gold, the treasure, the valuable object and the media or the form you present it in is the vehicle or mode of transportation you use to deliver the story to the viewer. Now some stories are better told in specific forms of media, based on the way they would best be delivered. For me it is about the stories and sharing them with others. Because of that I am willing to present the story in whatever form is best to tell it in, even if that is multiple different ways. Personally I enjoy viewing and creating stories in a variety of media and for that reason I am working to move closer to doing that professionally. And I would like for you to come along with me on this creative journey.
Quick Fact: Did you know that the word media, is the plural of the word medium.
The media I work in includes:
Live action long form and short form videos. These can be fictional, like movies and shows, or even informational.
Animation. The subject my bachelors degree is in.
Illustration, Comics,
Novels, with sometimes over 100 thousand words, and occasionally short stories.
It’s quite a list, I know. Which is why I love working with others to make these projects come to life. For me the storytelling and imaginative part is what encourages the process behind all of these projects. However I know that there are those who just love the art form of film, or novel writing, or animation, and their enthusiasm for their craft gets me more motivated to work alongside them to make some of these stories I have come to life. All of this to say that there may be others involved here on the blog when certain projects are happening, because honestly, presenting your creativity in any viewable form is usually not a completely individual activity.
Why Start the Blog? What’s Happening Here?
The thing about it is that I like to keep track of the behind the scenes of most every project. Behind the Scenes has always been one of my favorite things. As a little girl one of my favorite things to watch was the behind the scenes of the original X men movies. I enjoyed the things I learned from watching others work and I would like to pass that same type of information on to the next generation of creators. Especially those who may be managing multiple creative projects or fostering multiple creative interests.
I would like to put it out there that I’m not here to teach you how to do it, just show you how I do it. If you find it educational then, I’m glad. If it’s just interesting to you, then I’m also glad. Whatever the reason you’re here, Welcome to the ArtofZanae Blog!
